Sheela Purkayastha(MBBS, MD, FRCOG, FFFP) – Consultant Gynaecologist
Sheela Purkayastha is an eminent Consultant Gynaecologist. Her areas of special interest are colposcopy, menopause, osteoporosis, PMS and family planning. Having qualified as a Doctor in 1969, she has over 30 years of experience working in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, today choosing to solely practice Gynaecology. A great believer in having open conversations with patients about their available options, she is aided by being fluent in Persian and able to speak many languages from the Indian subcontinent.
In addition to her work with The Women's Wellness Centre, Dr Purkayastha works as a Consultant Gynaecologist at the BUPA Cromwell Hospital and on Harley Street. She is also an Honorary Consultant in a teaching role at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and a published author, with a book titled 'Postreproductive Gynaecology'.
Dr Purkayastha always keeps up-to-date with new treatments and methods available and is pleased to be able to offer these to her patients. Recently she has benefited from learning new techniques from the USA, using lasers to treat a number of gynaecological problems. Read Article: HPV Vaccine |
