Gubby Ayida
(MA, FRCOG, DM) – Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist
In addition to being a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Gubby Ayida is Clinical Director and Founder of The Women’s Wellness Centre. A graduate of Somerville College, Oxford University and St Thomas’s Medical School, she was awarded a Doctor of Medicine from Oxford for her postgraduate thesis on ‘Special Applications of Ultrasound to Management of Sub-fertility’.
In addition to her work at The Women’s Wellness Centre, Dr. Ayida is Chair of the Maternity Risk Management Group, Service Director for the Maternity Services and Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. On top of her clinical responsibilities, she maintains an active interest in Organisational Management, Risk Assessment and Reduction, and Clinical Governance, leading to regional and national contributions. These include membership of the NHS Modernisation Think Tank Group and advice and facilitation with the National Clinical Governance Support Unit’s Maternity Programme for hospitals.
Gubby Ayida is passionate about women’s education and the challenges that women face in the workplace. She is a regular speaker at schools, colleges and industry and is on the Board of Governors at Cheltenham Ladies College.
