What Do You Do With Your Ultrasound Pictures?

Getting the first pictures of your baby is one of the most exciting parts of having your ultrasound at the London clinic, but what do you do with it when you get home?

  • Keep a copy in your wallet or handbag
  • Set it as the background on your phone
  • Stick the scan up on your fridge so you’ll see it every day

While you’re waiting for your baby to arrive, there are plenty of other things you can do with your ultrasound pictures.

  • Use them to make customised baby shower invitations or decorations
  • Give older siblings a few copies and let them colour them in or decorate them
  • Challenge people to guess your baby’s sex from the 20 week scan picture
  • Try to work out who the baby looks like
  • Compare the scan to your own baby pictures or ultrasound if your parents have one

Preserving Your Ultrasound Pictures

Once your baby arrives, you might want to find a more permanent home for your scan pictures. By the time your baby is born you could already have several ultrasound pictures and maybe a 4D scan picture if you’ve had one done at a private clinic in London. You’ll probably end up with lots of photos of your new baby to organise too.

  • Add the scan picture to your family photo album
  • Frame it and put it up on the wall
  • Start a baby book to record all the details, from birth weight to first words

Sharing Your Baby Pictures

Sharing your ultrasound picture through social media can be a great way to spread the news that you’re expecting. Just remember to check your security settings if you want to restrict who can see your baby pictures. You can also share pictures via email if you want to keep them private. Making some paper copies to share can also be a good idea, particularly if any of the expectant grandparents aren’t fond of technology. The original scan pictures you get from the London clinic can sometimes fade over time, especially if they’re exposed to the light, so you might want to make some copies for yourself too.
