Miss Gubby Ayida

Miss Gubby Ayida is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. She is a graduate of Somerville College, Oxford University and St Thomas’s Medical School, London. Her higher training and clinical experience was gained principally in major academic teaching hospitals which were also tertiary referral centres for high risk pregnancies and specialist gynaecology services She was awarded a DM from Oxford for her postgraduate thesis on ‘Special Applications of Ultrasound to Management of Sub-fertility’.

Her private practice is based in heart of Chelsea at The Women’s Wellness Centre and her NHS practice is at the nearby top performing Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Gubby’s guiding philosophy is based on a respect for pregnancy as a state of health, and childbirth as a normal, healthy physiological process. Her obstetric care respects the diversity of women’s needs and the variety of personal and cultural values that women bring to pregnancy and birthing.

Gubby runs a comprehensive gynaecological practice including well women and sexual health checks across the different age groups, cervical, uterine and ovarian cancer screening tests, management of menstrual disorders, fibroids, fertility investigation, contraception and problems of the perimenopause and menopause. 

She is trained to provide treatment using MonaLisa Touch® an effective, alternative non hormonal laser treatment for women with Genito Urinary symptoms (GSM) of the menopause or vaginal symptoms such as side effect from breast cancer treatment.

Married for many years with three wonderful children (young adults) and a very supportive and balanced husband, Miss Ayida for most times has managed to successfully combine career commitments with a stable family life.

Gubby Ayida is also Founder/CEO of the Women’s Wellness Centre over the years has grown, developing a strong established brand. Miss Ayida was listed in (2007/2013) Tatlers Guide to Britains ‘s 250 best private Doctors. The growth of the Centre over the past 15 years has paralleled Miss Ayida’s increasing commitment and involvement with NHS management.

Gubby has designed her practice with women rightfully at the Centre. Access at The Women’s Wellness Centre to ultrasound scans, blood tests, and other linked women services such as colposcopy, breast, aesthetic, mental health, genetic testing, women health physiotherapists and paediatric services is a highly valued aspect of her women centred holistic approach to women’s health.

With a strong background in NHS management and Clinical leadership, till October 2019 was the Associate Medical Director for Strategic Programmes for Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. Prior to that she was cross-site Divisional Medical Director for one of the largest divisions in the Trust namely Women’s & Children, HIV /GUM.
